How Needlepoint and Organization Led to Stitch Sloth – Now Streaming on Fiber Talk

Big news in the world of needlepoint and awkward self-promotion: I was just featured on Fiber Talk, the wildly popular podcast hosted by Gary Parr and co-hosted by Cindy Baldwin. The episode dropped today, and if you’re curious about how Stitch Sloth came to be—and how a type-A needlepoint lover ended up building a digital haven for fiber friends—you’ll definitely want to check it out.

A Conversation About Creativity (and Compulsive Organizing)

Gary and Cindy were incredibly kind and asked thoughtful, engaging questions throughout our chat. We talked about how I first discovered needlepoint, my lifelong love of organization, and how those two passions eventually merged into what is now Stitch Sloth.

As the conversation unfolded, I shared how Stitch Sloth was built to support stitchers of all styles—from beginners with overflowing stash drawers to seasoned pros hunting for the perfect fiber. In addition, we touched on the journey of building an online community, one spreadsheet and stitched corner at a time.

What We Covered

If you’ve ever wondered how a needlepoint-obsessed, type-A organizer decided to create an ad-free, membership-based community for stitchers—you’ll find the answers here. Along the way, we discussed some of my favorite Stitch Sloth features, including the fiber inventory system and the ever-growing StitchBoard.

That said, full disclosure: I was a little nervous to listen to the episode this morning. Honestly, hearing my own voice is not my favorite thing. However, I’m not alone—who really likes the sound of their own voice?

Even so, I made it through the whole thing. And yes, I laughed a few times (even at myself). So, if you’re curious to hear the real story behind Stitch Sloth—and get a feel for what we’re all about—this episode is definitely worth a listen.
