Hi, I’m Ilene. And This Is Why Stitch Sloth Exists.
If you’re new here, welcome.
And if you’ve been around for a while, consider this a little re-introduction.
I’m Ilene, and I’m the founder of Stitch Sloth, a needlepoint organization platform created to help stitchers feel calmer, more organized, and more inspired with their projects.
Like many of us, I didn’t plan for needlepoint to become such a big part of my life. At first, I walked into a local needlepoint store, picked up a canvas, and instantly felt something click. Over time, stitching became my quiet time. Eventually, it turned into my reset. Most importantly, it became my happy place.
However, as my love for needlepoint grew, so did the mess.
Suddenly, there were canvases everywhere.
Meanwhile, fibers I already owned were forgotten.
On top of that, notes were scribbled on random pieces of paper.
And, of course, projects were started… and then misplaced.
Clearly, I knew there had to be a better way.
Why I Built Stitch Sloth
Stitch Sloth was born out of a real need — my own.
At the time, I wanted a place where I could:
-
Keep track of all my needlepoint projects
-
Remember which fibers I used and which ones I already owned
-
Organize canvases, stitches, and ideas in one place
-
Feel inspired by other stitchers instead of overwhelmed by clutter
Unfortunately, that place didn’t exist.
So, instead of forcing myself into systems that weren’t designed for needlepoint, I decided to build something created specifically for our community. In fact, Stitch Sloth was designed as a needlepoint organization platform that replaces scattered notes, duplicate fibers, and forgotten projects with clarity and ease.
Stitch Sloth isn’t about stitching faster.
Instead, it’s about stitching happier.
What Stitch Sloth Is as a Needlepoint Organization Platform
Stitch Sloth is an online platform created exclusively for needlepoint lovers. More than anything, it’s a place where you can organize your needlepoint life and connect with people who truly get it.
Inside, you’ll find tools designed to support you at every stage of your stitching journey.
The StitchBook
First, your digital notebook for needlepoint projects. Here, you can track canvases, fibers, stitches, progress, and notes — all in one place.
Fiber Inventory
Next, a simple way to stop buying duplicates (unless you want to). With this feature, you can keep track of what you own, what you love, and what you need.
Community
Additionally, Stitch Sloth offers a supportive, needlepoint-only space where you can share projects, ask questions, and feel inspired without noise or pressure.
Discovery
Finally, you can see what others are stitching, explore new ideas, and keep your creative spark alive.
That said, it’s just as important to know what Stitch Sloth is not.
It’s not social media overload.
It’s not competitive.
And it’s not another place demanding your attention.
Instead, it’s meant to feel calm. Organized. Encouraging.
Who Stitch Sloth Is For
Stitch Sloth is for you if:
-
You have more than one needlepoint project going
-
You’ve ever rebought a fiber you already owned
-
You love seeing what other stitchers are working on
-
You want organization without rigidity
-
You want community without comparison
Whether you stitch every day or only pick it up when life allows, you belong here.
A Fresh Start (For Me Too)
To be honest, I took a break from blogging longer than I planned. Like many creative projects, life, business, and inspiration all ebb and flow.
Still, Stitch Sloth has continued to grow. Even more encouraging, this community has grown right along with it. Because of that, one thing is clear: this space matters.
So, this post is a reset.
It’s also a hello.
And, ultimately, it’s a reminder of why Stitch Sloth exists in the first place.
If you’re new, I’m so glad you found us.
If you’ve been here for a while, thank you for being part of this journey.
Going forward, more blog posts are coming. Along with that, you’ll see more tips, more organizational help, and even more needlepoint joy.
And yes — slower stitching is always encouraged.
Welcome to Stitch Sloth 💙
